Marvel’s superhero film “Ant-Man” lands at top of weekend box office in North America.
(WALT DISNEY PICTURES) – The summer movie blockbuster season is on track with Marvel superhero film “Ant-Man” landing at the top of the North American weekend box office with a solid $58 million on Sunday (July 19).
“Minions” fell from it’s top spot last week to take second place. The “Despicable Me” spin-off added $50.2 million to its worldwide take of $445 million.
It-girl Amy Schumer’s film “Trainwreck” co-starring Bill Hader and superstar athlete Lebron James playing himself made a $30.2 million debut in third place.
Walt Disney’s “Inside Out” moved to fourth place with $11.6 million, while dinosaur thriller “Jurassic World” rounded out the top five with $11.4 million pushing it’s domestic total to $611.1 million.
