Ringwald celebrates 30 years since “The Breakfast Club”

(EVO) – The classic teen dramedy “The Breakfast Club” celebrated its 30th anniversary at Austin, Texas’s SXSW festival.

The film’s stars Molly Ringwald and Ally Sheedy reunited on the red carpet, posing for photos and talking to the media.

The 1985 movie, which follows five teenagers spending a Saturday in detention, was a depiction of generation X angst and has since become a cult classic.

Molly Ringwald:

“Nobody’s really managed to make a movie I think as good as what this movie was for the time. So I think until something comes along to replace it I think it’s firmly entrenched in movie classic history.”

Ally Sheedy:

“I don’t think we had any idea that it was going to have this kind of longevity and resonate.”

A special newly stored DVD and Blu-ray edition of the film was released on March 10.
