Star Wars fans attend premier of ‘The Last Jedi’

LA PAZ, BOLIVIA (DECEMBER 13, 2017) (REUTERS) – On Wednesday (December 13), hundreds of Star Wars fans dressed up as movie characters to attend the premier of “The Last Jedi,” in Bolivia, where certain scenes of the movie were filmed.

With 17,000 members, the Star Wars fan club organized hours of overnight private shows in La Paz.

Fans said they felt a special connection to the film because scenes were filmed in Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat.

“The Last Jedi,” out in theatres worldwide from Wednesday, is the eighth instalment of the long-running “Star Wars” saga that George Lucas kicked off with 1977’s “Episode IV: A New Hope.”
