(R Reports) – The Box Office numbers are out… and rap group N.W.A. is still selling hard.
The group’s biopic “Straight Outta Compton” cruised steady in Number 1 for a third consecutive week.
The beat-filled film brought in $13.2 million this weekend, pushing its domestic total to more than $134 million and making it the highest-grossing musical biopic ever.
The faith-based “War Room” came in second, surprising many by bringing in $11 million — three times its production budget.
Coming in third was “Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.”
The action spy movie took in $8.3 million… enough to top Owen Wilson’s “No Escape” … “Sinister 2” … and Zac Efron’s worst wide-release of his career, “We are Your Friends.”
