(R Reports) – Philippines anti-drugs campaigners want UK boyband One Direction to undergo drugs checks before their two-night Manila gig at the weekend.
Lawyers for Fight of the Filipino Family are filing for a restraining order to push for just that.
Lawyers for the group say they want the boyband to undergo tests before their shows after reports they used marijuana last year.
CHERRY CHING, LAWYER FOR ANTI-DRUG ADVOCATE GROUP LABAN NG PAMILYANG PILIPINO,
“I watched them personally on YouTube while they were auditioning for X Factor, all the way through the live shows. I really love them. Personally I would love to watch them but the drugs, that’s the issue. So the filing of the case, the temporary restraining order, is specifically targeted towards the holding of the concert pending a drug test.”
The campaigners admit they’re not confident their petition for a restraining order will get through.
But they say at least it should convey their feelings on illegal drug use.
