Kendrick Lamar stays atop Billboard album sales chart

Kendrick Lamar continues his reign on the weekly U.S. Billboard 200 album chart. Bob Mezan reports.

Kendrick Lamar continues his reign on the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart for a third consecutive week. Lamar’s “Damn.” sold another 173,000 units, that includes 157 million streams, for the week ending May 4.

Coming in at No. 2 was Gorillaz. The virtual animated band saw its album “Humanz” debut with 140,000 units sold.

Mary J. Blige’s latest album rounded out the top three. The R&B singer’s “Strength of a Woman” sold 78,000 units during its premiere week.

On the Digital Songs chart, hiphop producer DJ Khaled and Justin Bieber’s “I’m the One” debuted at No. 1 with 171,000 copies sold.
