Singer Morrissey’s debut novel wins ‘Bad Sex’ prize

British pop singer Morrissey wins the award for worst sex scene of the year in a book in his debut novel ‘List of the Lost’. Rollo Ross reports.

(REUTERS / SIRE RECORDS) – He may have won over generations of young people with his music, and he’s even won songwriting awards, but Morrissey has now been panned for his writing.

He has been named by Britain’s Literary Review magazine for the dubious distinction of the Bad Sex in Fiction Award for a passage in his debut novel ‘List of the Lost’.

The sex scene in question has two characters roll together into “one giggling snowball of full-figured copulation”.

Organisers of the prize at a ceremony in London said Morrissey “was unable to attend due to touring commitments and was unavailable for comment.”
