NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES (SEPTEMBER 14, 2015) (REUTERS) – The Frick Collection museum on Manhattan’s Upper East Side was the backdrop for Carolina Herrera’s spring 2016 show on Monday (September 15) at New York Fashion Week: The Shows.

Herrera, who is a New York resident, said the museum is one of her favorite places in the city.

“It’s calm. It’s beautiful. The collection is absolutely fantastical what they have. And they always have the best exhibitions.”

Before the show Herrera said she is in her ‘pink period’ and thought using the color in different shades would be flattering for her cliental.

“I believe it is a very calm collection and very feminine, with a lot of movement. I’ve used a lot of the pink color, from very light to the strongest pink and it is also a very seductive collection.”

There were very few prints in the line of 45 looks, with Herrera instead focusing on the cuts of the dresses.

“It’s a lot of transparencies but not right there, they are in a very mysterious way and they evoke seduction, I mean they are sensual. But you know, you have to leave something for the imagination.”

Chiffon and organza created movement in day and evening looks. Techno fabric appliqués and feather embroideries embellished garments making them true to Herrera’s signature style.

Fashion Week will end on September 17.
