Veteran designer Diane von Furstenberg appeals to the women’s seductive side for her Fall 2015 collection.
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES (FEBRUARY 15, 2015) (REUTERS) – It seems as if Diane von Furstenberg took a cue from the new “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie for her new Fall 2015 collection debuted at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York on Sunday (February 15).
The designer titled her line “Seduction” and sent models through a keyhole to a song from the film’s soundtrack, “Earned It (Fifty Shades Of Grey)” by The Weekend.
“It’s very much glorifying the woman. And this woman is very much in charge of her life and very much in command during the day and at night she inspires fantasy. So, and her bag is called double agent. So she is a little bit of a double agent,” said von Furstenberg.
Model and reality star Kendall Jenner kicked off the show wearing one of von Furstenberg’s signature wrap dresses in Ivory with a lace back.
The collection then moved to multi-floral hues with a fabric the designer created for the line.
“We used a lot of tweed but what is very interesting is we used the tweed real tweed and then we made a chiffon printed tweed. So we played with lots of the fabrics and interpreted it in a different ways. She is structured and then with softness. There is one dress that I particularly love is the tuxedo dress. It’s a new silhouette and it comes in a variety of ways,” she explained.
The second half of the show featured deep red and black.
New York Fashion Week will end on February 19.
