Burberry adds another celebrity to its list of famous models, British actress Lily James.
(BURBERRY) – British fashion brand Burberry has added another celebrity to its list of famous models, actress Lily James.
The “Downton Abbey”, “Cinderella” and “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” actress stars in a new advertising campaign for fragrance “My Burberry Black”.
“Over the years I’ve been involved with Burberry shows, like at their shows and worn their clothes, but the family is, it’s a real thing and it’s really intimate and it’s such a wonderful group of people, you know, and I love that Christopher [Bailey] sort of champions musicians and actors and models,” said James in an interview with Reuters in London.
Burberry, known for its trench coats, has previously cast Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne and Romeo Beckham, son of footballer David Beckham and his designer wife Victoria Beckham, in adverts.
The advert for “My Burberry Black” was shot by acclaimed photographer Mario Testino. It features a cover of the classic song, “I Put a Spell on You”, performed by Duffy.
When asked about whether the ad’s sleek and seductive style could work as an audition tape for a role in the next James Bond movie, James replied: “The Bond films are amazing and they’re such iconic, wonderful British films, so yeah absolutely – any part, Bond girl, Bond.”
The 27-year-old, who has appeared in films alongside Douglas Booth, Richard Madden and Suki Waterhouse, also commented on the emerging group of young British talent making waves in the U.S.
“I do think there’s a whole group of English actors that are really good and really cool and kind and there is like a fun crew of people actually. And it’s nice that we all hang out together and get on and get drunk together basically.”
