Puerto Rican crowned Miss World 2016

Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Del Valle beats out the competition to be crowned Miss World at a ceremony near Washington D.C. Samantha Vadas reports.

(MISS WORLD GRAND FINAL 2016) – The moment Puerto Rico’s Stephanie Del Valle became this year’s Miss World.

The 19-year-old clearly shocked as it dawned on her that she’d won the 66th edition of the coveted beauty pageant.

More than 100 women from around the world were vying for the title in a glitzy star-studded ceremony in Maryland, in the United States.

Del Valle saying it was an “honour and a great responsibility” to represent her country.

She’d previously won her national beauty pageant Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico.

But as she was crowned by last year’s winner in front of a cheering crowd it was clear to see the five-foot-eight beauty queen was sitting on top of the world.
