SHOWS: MEDELLIN, COLOMBIA (JUNE 12, 2017) (RCN TV) – Three men in Colombia have gained legal recognition for a “polyamorous” marriage, a first for the conservative Catholic country.
The men, Victor Hugo Prada, Manuel Jose Burmedez and John Alejandro Rodriguez reportedly signed legal papers in Medellin that established themselves as a family unit, complete with legal rights such as inheritance.
Three-people marriages are believed to exist in more traditional parts of Colombia but this is the first case of its kind to be made legal.
The news of the three-person marriage comes a year after Colombia legalised same-sex marriage.
