THE 2021 WORLD PRESS FREEDOM DAY COMMEMORATION

Lusaka, Zambia. May 3, 2021 — The Media Liaison Committee, through its World Press Freedom Day local organising committee, is pleased to announce to all journalists, media institutions and other stakeholders that we shall physically commemorate this year’s event on May 3. In Lusaka, the commemoration will also involve a marchpast from the High Court grounds to the Freedom Statue.

Zambians express concern over president’s health

Zambia’s president Edgar Lungu will seek treatment abroad to correct a narrowing of the food pipe that caused him to fall ill on Sunday. Zambians, who lost former president Michael Sata when he died in October last year after an illness are especially concerned about Lungu’s health.
