An office attendant shoots down an 18-year-old girl in India’s IT hub Bengaluru.
BENGALURU, KARNATAKA, INDIA (APRIL 01, 2015) (ANI) – An office attendant shot down an 18-year-old girl in India’s southern Karnataka state on Tuesday night (March 31).
The incident took place around 10 p.m. (1630 GMT) when the attendant barged into the hostel in school premises in IT hub Bengaluru and opened fired at two girls, out of them one succumbed to her injuries and the other is out of danger.
The accused has been identified as Mahesh and was working in the school for last two years.
“In the ladies hostel, one person who is working as an attendant in the college entered and used fire arms and shot two girls in which one girl succumbed to her injuries and died in the hospital and the second girl is out of danger, she is in the hospital. Other than that, we have already taken up the investigation, identity of the accused is known and we are trying to trace him at the earliest. Already three teams have been formed and two teams have been dispatched,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rohini Katoch Sepat, on Wednesday (April 01).
Police also said the accused used country made fire arms.
As per local reports, Mahesh killed the girl for spurning his advances and rejecting his love.
State’s Interior Minister, K.J. George, and other senior police officers reached the spot to take stock of the situation.
