UK police end armed hostage-taking at English leisure complex -BBC

NUNEATON, ENGLAND, UK (OCTOBER 22, 2017) (POPA MARIAN) – British police ended an armed hostage siege on Sunday (October 22), the BBC reported, saying there were no casualties after a gunman took two staff members hostage at a bowling alley in a leisure complex in central England.

Earlier, Warwickshire police had ruled out a connection with “terrorist activity” after saying they were dealing with an “ongoing incident” at the leisure park in Nuneaton.

Eyewitness Chris Turner was going to pick his children up from a play-centre next to the bowling alley and said a man with a gun came to the door and told him to get out of the area.

A video uploaded to a social media website showed armed police at the complex and local media reported that roads leading to it had been closed off.
