(Reuters) – Burned out vehicles litter the Kenyan highway where an oil tanker ran out of control and burst into a flaming fireball.

At least 25 people are known to have died.

A paramilitary police vehicle carrying officers and weapons was among those destroyed.

It’s feared there may be more casualties in the wreckage.

The accident happened late on Saturday when the tanker, en route to Uganda, ran out of control near the central town of Naivasha.

What caused the crash, on one of Kenya’s main highways, was not immediately clear.
