Even though we are in the midst of war, we can still find hope and peace in Jesus’ birth. He is a reminder that God loves us all and that he wants us to live in peace with one another.
Dearest grandchildren,
I know that you are seeing a lot of war on the news and that it is making you sad and scared. I want you to know that you are not alone and that there is hope for peace.
Over 2,000 years ago, a baby named Jesus was born in a manger. A manger is a place where animals eat. Jesus was born in a manger because there was no room for him and his mother, Mary, at the inn.
Mary and Joseph were traveling to Bethlehem to register for the Roman census. They were tired and hungry, but they could not find a place to stay. Everyone was busy with the census and there were no rooms left at the inn.
Finally, a kind innkeeper let Mary and Joseph stay in the stable. That is where Jesus was born.
Even though Jesus was born in a humble place, he was the Son of God. He came to earth to teach us about love, peace, and forgiveness.
The war that you are seeing on the news is very sad and wrong. It is important to remember that Jesus taught us to love our enemies and to pray for those who persecute us.
We can pray for peace in the Middle East and for all the people who are suffering from war. We can also donate to charities that are helping the victims of war.
Even though we cannot stop the war ourselves, we can still make a difference by showing love and compassion to others. We can also be a voice for peace and advocate for non-violence.
Remember, Jesus taught us that love is the most powerful force in the world.
Love, Grandpa
