28 April 2023 /Internet/– Bluesky is an open-source, decentralized social media protocol being developed by a team of engineers and designers led by Jay Graber. The project was announced in 2019 by Jack Dorsey, the co-founder and former CEO of Twitter, who is also a founding member of Bluesky.

Why critical thinking an important skill in the age of AI.

April 29, 2023 /Business/ — It will require critical thinking and systems thinking to get the most out of AI tools. Being a Prompt Engineer will become a great skill to have in your toolbox. Prompt engineers simply need a decent level of language and grammar skills, data analysis, and critical thinking.

Prompted Critical thinking is the key. AI generators are not designed to assess the veracity of text they input and output. Nor are they intended to use any sort of critical thinking, which is why jobs that require critical thinking are not about to be replaced by Generative AI.

You don’t need to memorize – it’s time to focus on real-life skills, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence. The critical thinking required to enter a prompt and use AI tools effectively is worth training for – not the memorization of information. Continue reading →

After more than a week of intense fighting between Sudanese government troops and paramilitary forces in Khartoum, many western countries – including the US and UK – are evacuating their nationals from the strife-torn city.

While the conflict has been billed as a clash between rival warlords, there are questions about the role played by the private Russian mercenary company, the Wagner Group. This group, allegedly associated with Russian president Vladimir Putin’s ally Yevgeny Prigozhin – although he has denied any involvement – is heavily engaged in several African countries, exacerbating regional instability.

Richard Sharp leaves the BBC after conflict of interest

April 28, 2023 /Media/ — Richard Sharp resigned as Chairman of the BBC on April 28, 2023, after a report found he had breached rules on public appointments by failing to declare his connection to a secret £800,000 loan made to Boris Johnson.

The report, by the UK commissioner of public appointments, found that Sharp had created a “potential perceived conflict of interest” by not disclosing his knowledge of the loan when he was appointed to the BBC board in 2020. Continue reading →
