Investor confidence took a hit due to slowing user growth coupled with a severe contraction in referral traffic from Google. During the company’s earnings call, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman explained that Google’s AI Mode and AI Overviews have ceased driving meaningful web traffic, causing Reddit to lose over one million weekly referrals in October alone.
