29 August 2023 /Food and Drink/ –I n 2022, there were 1,245 alcohol-specific deaths in Scotland, compared to 1,051 drug-related deaths. This is the first time that alcohol-related deaths have been higher than drug-related deaths in Scotland.
Alcohol can impair judgment and decision-making, which can lead to risky behavior. It can also make it more difficult to consent to sexual activity. In addition, alcohol can be used to intoxicate women so that they can be taken advantage of. Continue reading

After a good night out you may not be surprised when you wake up feeling rough the next morning. But what may surprise you is if your friends aren’t feeling the same way. Some may feel worse, some better and some (if they’re lucky) may not feel any of the negative consequences at all.
Alcohol consumption is a top-ten driver of death, illness and injury, with wide-ranging social and economic harms. Many of the harms related to alcohol disproportionately affect young adults, and surveys from multiple countries suggest that the Covid-19 pandemic has further increased drinking.
