Arabic Edition of Xi Jinping: On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights Launched in Cairo

On September 27 local time, the launch ceremony for the Arabic edition of Xi Jinping: On Respecting and Protecting Human Rights and the seminar on “Advancing Development Through Cooperation and Promoting Human Rights Through Development” was held in Cairo, capital of Egypt. The event was hosted by the China International Communications Group (CICG) and co-organized by the Foreign Languages Press and the CICG Center for Western Europe and Africa. Around 100 representatives from the political, academic, cultural, media, publishing, and other communities of China, Egypt, Sudan, Bahrain, Morocco, and the Arab League attended the event. A special gift at the tomb of Yuan Longping

Recently, a special gift – a bowl of hybrid rice from Africa, appeared at the tomb of Mr. Yuan Longping, father of the hybrid rice. The gift was brought by Rakotoson Philibert, former Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Madagascar Republic, who came to China for the third China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo. China’s gallium and germanium controls: what they mean and what could happen next

From August, China is to restrict exports of gallium and germanium, two critical elements for making semiconductor chips. With China dominating the supply of both elements, exporters will now need special licences to get them out of the country. The move has the potential to harm a range of western tech manufacturers that use these elements to make their products.

On Friday June 23 2023, Prigozhin ordered 25,000 of his troops on to a “march for justice”, which duly set out to confront the Russian president in Moscow. The following afternoon he called it off.

In the short term, the deal will likely lead to a decrease in Zambia’s debt servicing costs, which will free up funds that can be used for other purposes, such as infrastructure development and social programs.
